Nutrition for Surgery makes SurgiFuel™, two food supplement shakes for the two weeks before and after an operation. Nutrition for Surgery was created by Professor Sandip Hindocha, who has a financial interest in the company and discloses this in line with his professional obligations as a doctor. It is a food supplement, formulated with a nutrition laboratory — it sits alongside whatever your surgical team has told you to do, and never replaces it.

Both shakes are vanilla food supplements in powder form. You mix 50 g, which is two scoops, with about 300 ml of cold water or milk, twice a day.

Neither. Nutrition for Surgery is a food supplement. It sits alongside the advice your surgical team gives you around an operation, rather than replacing it, and it isn’t intended to prevent, treat or cure any condition.
The Pre-Op shake is formulated for the weeks before your operation, and the Post-Op shake for the two weeks after your operation — two different formulations for two different jobs, each in its own colour-coded pack.
Mix two scoops (50g) into about 300ml of water or milk, twice a day. One 1.4kg pack gives 28 servings, which is 14 days. Follow the advice of your surgical team alongside it.
